Snap Crackle Pop!

Every book, everybody said between 4 and 5 months, I would pop. My time has come as the curves are gone and the toes cannot be seen unless I bend over! With a bigger belly comes a greater realization that yes, I am soon to be a mommy. There is also a greater need to moan and groan--you go to pick up your socks, you moan, you lift your tush out of the chair, you groan. What on earth will I do and sound like in 3 months?!

My first pre-natal class was this morning at Good Shepard Center in Wallingford. After introductions, I discovered I am the earliest of all the mommies. The size of some bellies were intimidating and comforting because I realize what's in store and I'm not alone. I think my friend Leyl, mom of 1 year old Maddy, said it best, it truly feels like Invasion of the Body Snatchers. It's no longer my body per se as this greater purpose is beyond my control and taking over more and more every single day. I wouldn't change it for the world although I miss my size 6 jeans, sushi and martini from time-to-time.
